Academic Excellence at Prior’s Field

At Prior’s Field, we empower girls to aspire and excel through an ambitious academic environment. Our broad curriculum, from Lower School to GCSEs, fosters creativity, independence, and determination, preparing students to become future leaders and lifelong learners

Through innovative teaching methods and appropriate support, we instil the drive for everyone to fulfil their potential, allowing them to become lifelong learners and future leaders in an ever-evolving, modern world. The spirit of Prior’s Field is one of creativity and enterprise. We place a high value on independence of thought, problem-solving and the huge satisfaction that comes from working hard.

Our curriculum is designed to reflect this, with all students being given the opportunity to experience a wide range of subjects through Lower School before making GCSE options choices. It is only through experience that our students can truly understand where their talents, enthusiasms and futures lie.

It is from here that, with the support of our talented and dedicated teaching staff, the girls shape their futures and prepare for their place in the world beyond.

Lower School Curriculum

From Art to Physics and PE to Latin, our students are given a wide educational experience throughout the first three years.

All students study a broad and balanced curriculum they spend a third of each year studying a different technology: Design, Food and Textiles.

Most students study two languages following a taster of French, Spanish and Latin in Year 7

Girls have weekly PE sessions to stay active, and Mindful Education is taught throughout the first two years, where students learn to respond rather than react, and to learn effectively, making the most of their education.

GCSE Curriculum

Girls study for nine or ten GCSEs, depending on their core subjects. All students study English Language and Literature, Mathematics and Dual Award Science. GCSE options range from Triple Science to Photography and Business to World Literature.
